Vino Nobile di Montepulciano La Braccesca 2018
The Vino Nobile La Braccesca is the modern proposal of a wine with an ancient tradition. In fact, the goodness of the red wines of Montepulciano was already praised by Francesco Redi, who in the seventeenth century considered it the "king" among Tuscan wines. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano La Braccesca comes from a very extensive estate with vineyards in several areas at different altitudes and this gives the wine a balanced and harmonious character. The use of Merlot together with Sangiovese is very frequent in Montepulciano; the Merlot enhances the fruity character and the sensation of softness on the palate that are typical of the red wines of this area. The cool climate conditions of 2018 vintage allowed to create a well-balanced and elegant Vino Nobile.
The harvest is separated by grape variety, first the Merlot is harvested and then the Sangiovese. They are vinified separately, both with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration of 10 days. Subsequently the wine ages for one year in large barrels and for another year in the bottle.
