Valtènesi Chiaretto Riviera del Garda Classico Lettera C 2019
The Lettera C rosé wine makes its debut with the 2019 harvest and stands out for being made in ceramic vessels. It has an intense, fresh, savory and precise taste; it is particularly intriguing on the nose with convincing fruity and floral aromas. It comes from a unique area such as that of the morainic hills of Valtènesi on the western shore of Lake Garda, where rosé wine is called Chiaretto; it is made with the native black-berried grape variety Groppello. What makes it unique is the use of ceramic vessels, which are both primordial and modern at the same time. In fact, at the origins there were only terracotta amphorae as containers for the production and storage of wine. Today, the use of this material is making a comeback because unlike wooden barrels, terracotta and ceramic do not give off aromas to the wine, but still allow it to evolve as it is not an inert material like steel. The wine produced in terracotta or ceramic thus maintains all its original purity, an expression of the vine variety and the territory of origin
