Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Il Vegro 2019
Valpolicella Ripasso are wines obtained with two fermentations, according to an ancient tradition to enrich slightly weak young wines. Today, however, the practice of revision is performed to create a style that recalls that of Amarone but has the advantage of being accessible and immediate. Brigaldara obtains the Vapolicella Ripasso Il Vegro by adding the wet pomace of Amarone to a vintage Valpolicella, which triggers a second fermentation that lasts a few days. In this way the wine acquires greater structure and the characteristic aromas of dried grapes. Finally the wine ages for 18 months in large oak barrels.
