Rosato Furia di Calafuria 2021

The tradition of Salento rosé wines is brought to a higher level of elegance and finesse by this new wine from Tormaresca. The Furia di Calafuria rosé is produced with a blend of Negroamaro and French grape varieties, has a style that is very reminiscent of the Provençal one: pale, light, lean rosé wines, with an intense and persistent taste. It is refreshing and mineral, without being sharp or heavy. It has well defined floral and fruity aromas. It is a harmonious wine, suitable for spring and summer, for important moments and goes perfectly with summer dishes, such as raw fish carpaccio, seafood, vegetables. Furia di Calafuria is produced by Tormaresca in its Masseria Maìme estate in the province of Brindisi in San Pietro Vernotico. The vineyards are located just above sea level, between woods and pine forests, and are affected by the Mediterranean climate of the Adriatic coast.

In 2021 the harvest took place between 30 August and 16 September, separated for each grape variety. Separately the different grapes were vinified with a soft pressing, refrigeration of the must and subsequent alcoholic fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. The wines remain in steel in contact with the fine lees for a few months and are finally blended.
