Monteverro 2017

It is the flagship wine of the Monteverro winery, produced with the best selection of grapes on the estate: a true champion with a strictly Bordeaux style; it is wonderful for structure, consistency, aromas and aging potential. It is a blend studied in detail to obtain an imposing and fascinating taste. Cabernet, Merlot and Petit verdot are expertly blended to give the wine completeness and tension on the palate. The proximity of the sea influences the ripening thanks to the mild microclimate all year round, the breezes that bring cool air at night and the surplus of sunlight.

2017 was a hot year with a declining production, but this did not compromise the quality where the vineyards were managed with care during all the vegetative and ripening phases of the grapes.

Each parcel is harvested by hand and vinified separately. Only at the end of the refinement does the final assembly proceed. The grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature and a part in barrique. The wine ages 2 years in 80% new French oak barrels. It is bottled without filtration.
