Diadema Rosso Aurum Colatum 2018
This version of Diadema Rosso takes its name from the practice used in making the label. Aurum Colatum, that is, cast gold. Gold is poured onto the paper to embellish the name Diadema. A way to honor the grapes carefully cultivated and selected by the winery. Sangiovese, the protagonist of the Florentine area, is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to create a red with a modern and international vision.
The harvest is manual. Sangiovese grapes are harvested in late September, those of Syrah in early October and finally those of Cabernet Sauvignon in mid-October. The varieties are fermented separately with a maceration of about 4 weeks, seeking the maximum extraction of the phenolic components from the skins. The blended wine ages finally for 16-18 months in French oak barriques.
