Crearo Conca d’Oro 2017
Crearo red wine by Tommasi comes from one of the best vineyards of the family, called Conca d’Oro, in the Valpolicella Classica. It is a modern wine produced by integrating the traditional grapes of Valpolicella with an international grape variety such as Cabernet franc. Cabernet franc has French origins and gives the wines balsamic aromas, sometimes a little herbaceous, very fine and silky tannins. In Crearo Conca d’Oro wine, the use of Cabernet franc increases the complexity and elegance of the taste. Furthermore, the aging of the wine in French barriques makes it sensual and contemporary. We can consider this wine as a modern Veronese wine, in which the most important thing is still the suitable territory of Valpolicella and its main grape: Corvina. It is an original wine that the Tommasi family is very fond of, because it testifies to the desire to look ahead and experiment without forgetting the territory and tradition.
The grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration of 15 days. The wine ages for 6 months in barrique and for another 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
