Champagne Extra Brut Premier Cru 2014 Millésime
Larnaudie Hirault’s Vintage Champagne is a sustained Champagne, whose elaboration also includes a partial one of barrique in the wine making of the base wines. Only the first selection of the vintage Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes is used for this Champagne label, which stands out for its full, taut and food-friendly taste. For the production of the vintage Champagne, grapes from Premier cru vineyards are used, in the villages of Trois-Puits and Taissy in the northern slope of the Montagne de Reims and the vineyards are managed with organic farming. The 2014 vintage was anomalous as the summer was cool and wet, but the warm and sunny month of September saved the harvest, allowing to harvest perfectly ripe grapes.
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are harvested and vinified separately. The harvest is manual. The alcoholic fermentation of the base wines takes place partly in steel vats and partly in barrique. After the creation of the cuvée with only wines from the 2014 vintage, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the traditional method and the sparkling wine ages on the lees for at least 3 years. Finally, it is dosed with 3 g / l of sugar.
