Champagne Brut Premier Cru Meunier
It is a Champagne produced with only perfectly ripe Pinot Meunier grapes. Pinot meunier is a very different vine variety from Pinot noir: it ripens earlier, has strong fruity aromas and less acidity. It is also much less delicate and can always ripen to perfection, even when the season is difficult. The Champagne of Larnaudie Hirault based on Pinot meunier has a particularly round and fruity taste, with characteristic notes of tropical fruit. This makes it suitable for meals and not just as an aperitif. However, it is a Champagne of a superior category, as all the grapes come from Premier Cru villages, therefore particularly suited. In addition, the Larnaudie family manages the vineyards with principles of sustainability and is converting to organic farming.
The harvest is manual. A light pressure of the whole bunches serves to extract a pure free-run must. This ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the traditional method and the Champagne ages on the lees for at least a year and a half. It is dosed with 3 g / l of sugar.
