Champagne Brut Belle Époque 2012 (magnum)
Oltre a essere la cuvée prestige della Maison - cioè la più pregiata ed esclusiva - Belle Époque è una vera e propria icona nel mondo degli Champagne. Dal 1964 sulla bottiglia è applicata la serigrafia degli anemoni bianchi giapponesi disegnati dall’artista Émile Gallé nel 1902. Il motivo floreale è un omaggio all’Art Nouveau e rappresenta lo stile della Maison, basato sull’eleganza dello Chardonnay. Belle Époque è uno Champagne millesimato prodotto solo nelle annate più favorevoli (neanche 30 fino ad ora), in cui lo Chardonnay costituisce metà della cuvée e proviene dai villaggi grand Cru di Avize e Cramant. Il Pinot nero - proveniente dal nord della Montagne de Reims - gioca il ruolo di spalla, senza eccedere nella potenza. La piccola percentuale di Pinot Meunier fa da anello di congiunzione fra i due.
La 2012 è stata un’annata eccezionale in Champagne: l’estate calda e soleggiata ha permesso di vendemmiare uve sane, perfettamente mature con acidità preziosa. Dopo l’assemblaggio della cuvée il Belle Époque matura sui lieviti per 6 anni ed è dosato con 8 g/l di zucchero.
