Rosso di Montalcino 2020
Rosso di Montalcino is a successful appellation whose wines come from the same vineyards of Brunello di Montalcino but with a lower body and aging potential. They are ready-to-drink wines and no doubt they are more affordable, as flavorful as Sangiovese from Montalcino can be.
The grapes come from various vineyards of Castello Banfi with differences in soil. Some vineyards have sandy clay soil, others more stony and calcareous, in some vineyards there are particular blue clays.
The Sangiovese grapes ferment in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in barrels of different sizes for 3-6 months.
