Troncone 2019
Riccardo Campinoti, from Le Ragniaie winery, produces the organic red wine Troncone from his highest vineyards, over 600 meters above sea level, on the Montalcino hill in Tuscany. It is a pure Sangiovese with a refreshing and lean style, floral and citrusy flavors, also suitable as an aperitif or to match fish dishes. It can also be served chilled paired with cold cuts or cold dishes. It is a very versatile, ready-to-drink and tasty wine. The vineyards are located on a very draining and dry soil and enjoy a microclimate with strong diurnal range. The grapes ripen while maintaining a high level of acidity and accumulating aromatic substances on the skins.
The harvest is manual. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with maceration in concrete tanks without adding selected yeasts, but only with spontaneous yeasts. After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and matures in large Slavonian oak barrels for about a year.
